Clinics Rising Announces John Dau Sudan Foundation as its Next Story

Will document Sudanese “Lost Boy” John Dau as he builds a medical clinic in Sudan

Clinics Rising is exited to announce that it will help the John Dau Sudan Foundation tell its story. The beginning of which was told in the film God Grew Tired of Us. After persevering through a 14 year journey of violence and starvation, in 2001 John Dau finally arrived safely in Syracuse, New York. Here he pursued his own version of the American Dream.

John Dau has since created the Duk Lost Boys Clinic in his hometown of Duk Payuel, located in the Sudan, where violent outbreaks of HIV/AIDS, malnutrition, maternal mortality rates and more prevail, and where there is only one trained doctor for every 100,000 people.

Clinics Rising will pick up the story from here, with the Duk Lost Boys Clinic in its second year of operation. And while John Dau focuses on funding his program, Clinics Rising will help deliver his story with state-of-the-art media, and at no cost whatsoever to his foundation.

Since its creation in 2006, Clinics Rising has spent two years in Rwanda documenting two medical clinics for the Wyman World Wide Health Partners.
