The Toll Of The Climate
Mar 8, 2009 at 11:06AM A wicked day, steaming hot with fierce gusting winds plastering everything with sand. Quote from Heidi Cross "it's like standing in front of a furnace."
Went to local church service this morning and was invited by Peter (the clinic lab tech) to attend his Sunday School in a nearby hut where he told the kids the story of the Good Samaritan...have remained hunkered down inside my tent since returning to the clinic...dust everywhere.
Glad to be flying home soon...unsure how long I'd last in this climate...totally brutal, can feel your skin being scorched off and all my clothes are dirty. Best part of the day is the evening shower.
One of the chiefs of the village offered 100 cows for Don Cross's daughter.
Rice and beans for 7th straight day. :-)
